本文根据许渊冲“三美论”的视角,比较分析了《失乐园》的三个主要汉译本:傅东华译本、朱维之译本和刘捷译本。文章从形美、音美和意美三个层面探讨了这三个译本的不同表现和效果,揭示了《失乐园》汉译本在不同时期汉译过程中的发展轨迹,并指出了“三美论”在英语无韵史诗汉译实践中的适用性,为无韵史诗这种特殊形式的翻译提供了新的研究视角。This paper conducts a comparative analysis of the three main Chinese translations of Paradise Lost—those by Fu Donghua, Zhu Weizhi, and Liu Jie—from the perspective of Xu Yuanchong’s “Three Beauties Theory”. The paper explores the different performances and effects of these translations, focusing on the beauty in form, beauty in sound, and beauty in sense. It reveals the Chinese translation development of Paradise Lost in different periods and points out the applicability of the “Three Beauties Theory” in the practice of translating English epics in blank verse. This provides a new research perspective for the translation of such special literary forms as epics in blank verse.
